So I was catching up on NCIS. McGee was being held hostage in a correctional facility and he was given the evil eye by this badass Latina gangbanger. I thought she looked familiar.

McGee’s computer says her name is Angela Lopez, but I know better: it’s Papi!

Janina Gavankar’s NCIS stint was before The L-Word, and I suppose by then she had turned over a new leaf. She has turned her back on a life of crime and took up spreading love to the women of West Hollywood, where she eventually ran into the nebulous world of Alice and Shane and the rest of them. Papi turned their world upside down when she suddenly appeared out of nowhere and had more hits than Resident Lothario Shane on The Chart.

Clearly, she did not want to be reminded of this dark moment in her life, but I bet she had learned life lessons in that correctional facility that helped her later on. Like, helped her get women back into her limo later on.

She did not look pleased that I had recognized her. But I was. :P

Then three episodes later, a navy man was found in a shed in the woods and his insides had been drawn and quartered. He also had a pentagram etched on his back. His daughter also looked familiar. This time it turned out to be FBI Special Agent Janis Hawk from Flash Forward. ("On October 6, the whole world blacked out for two minutes and seventeen seconds. The whole world saw their future."

The pilot had that huge, epic feel like Lost had. Agent Janis Hawk saw herself getting a sonogram. In her future, she was having a baby. She laughed at it later on. How can it happen when she's not obviously pregnant right now. And duh, how can she be pregnant if she's gay?

I was excited that the episodes were running real time and season 1 finale was going to end on April 29, 2010--the future that everyone saw in their flash forwards. There was so much going on: A world wide conspiracy! Black birds dropping from the sky! Nazis! Blue Hands! Suspect Zero! Then Joseph Fiennes ruined it with his OA acting. I still maintain it's his fault that everything imploaded and the show got cancelled.

Anyway, I'm usually bad with matching names and faces and I was just too glad to have recognized someone and it turned out that I was correct.

Then there was D.Gibbons/Dyson Frost who was a Very Bad Man. Later on, he resurfaces in a future favorite tv show. He played Charles Hoyt in Rizzoli & Isles. Also, Al Gough in FF shows up in R&I as Det. Barry Frost. So the trend seems to be: good guy in FF, good guy in R&I; bad guy in FF, bad guy in R&I.

Anyhow, all that's left for a more epic fandom collision is for Agent Hawk/Christine Woods to show up in Rizzoli & Isles. I mean, Dana Fairbanks of The L-Word already show up. If the dead can be resurrected in R&I, then surely Agent Janis Hawk showing up with the baby that John Cho may or may have not fathered is just one little thing, yeah?

Janet Tamaro, are you listening?

Edit: I wanted to do screenshots of Agent Hawk, but it turns out I don't have Episodes 3-7 of Flash Forward. I vaguely remember that @darkquarters may or may not have given me a dvd copy of those episodes. So now I'm in the process of acquiring FF Ep. 5, because that's where the squee-worthy Agent Hawk scenes are.
