okay here is the dealio on my past weeks. i'm starting with the first thing i did and went to the most recent one all in different entries. so yeah.
mexico
all i can say was it was the best week of my entire life. i have never had so much fun, never been so moved, never been so close to my church, never been so open to making new friends, never been so open in my faith before this.
- and i felt God. it was incredible. we did an ATL (ask the lord) where you just sit in silence and pray for God to tell you what to do next or lead you or something. and we have never really done these before. but on the last day, we all went up to the hill (pictured below) and prayed.
and miguel (michael schmidt) saw a bird and chris saw an apple and banana. and we were all like, what the heck does that have to do with anything? so they tried again, and this time, miguel saw a clock signifying time passing and chris's fruit turned into a feast with people eating. so we sort of concluded that God was telling us to come back to Tijuana next year because other people felt that to. But we still were like what the heck is going on the this crazy bird?
so we go for a prayer drive and all of a sudden Carlos says, go down that street. and we do and there is this huge building with a BIRD painted on it with a scripture underneath. miguel goes "THAT'S MY BIRD!" and the scripture read:
37. On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood up and proclaimed, "If any one thirst, let him come to me and drink. 38. He who believes in me, as the scripture has said, out of his heart shall flow rivers of living water.
and i just broke down and cried. i saw how everything fit together and saw that God was talking about reaching out to others (which was what we were doing) and it was crazy.
- and the kids were so cute there. even though it was heart wrenching to see where they were living and the unsafe communities they lived in, they were so happy to see us. it was totally life- changing
i could go on for hours, so just ask me more if you want to know more. i had a blast.
