Came back from London last night, after an 11 hour train trip. Dunno why I packed a book and tons of CDs, I was chatting with fellow travellers or looking out of the window most of the time! Does that count as 11 hours of TV? Well, except the 20 minutes under the Channel.
So I am back home, washing clothes, uploading pictures, and calling family. Lost nothing on the trip, except my good, old Opinel knife that was confiscated by border police on my trip *home* (huh? don't know how many times I have smuggled that one into the UK in the last 20 years). Apparently, Opinels are forbidden in the UK, because they don't click into the open position like pocket knifes but have a simple ring to arrest the blade in the open position.
Oh and I can still feel my knees from the hike (lots of uphill and downhill walking), but all in all it was really effortless, compared to last year's schlepping in tropical heat. I actually wanted to go back and get the light gloves I brought on the first day (6°C in London on Monday morning). I already told my sister "Next is the West Highland Way!" but she is not convinced, somehow :-).
