Surprise concert yesterday was perfect. She cried and a lot of us cried. And we got her to come up and conduct "He Never Failed Me Yet". She looked SO ECSTATIC to be able to conduct 160 of her alumni as her very final song. I can't even describe the look on her face during it. I bawled. It's so weird but I keep thinking how I'm going to miss her being at the school.... even though I graduated five years ago. That doesn't really make sense, I know.
There was a reception afterward, so I sat around with Kellena, Elle, Shaina, and her mom talking for a long time. And eating cake. And somehow getting icing all over my face. And spilling coffee on my white dress. Cool, self. Cool. Then we got to talk to Karen for a bit. Her face just lit up when I said I'm taking on a music minor when I go back to school. :)
As much as I constantly try to... I don't think I'm capable of really verbalizing just exactly how much this woman means to me, and how much she has made a positive difference in my life. <3
Then I almost got in a bar fight. Ha. More on that later................................
