Hi Giovanna,
I love your live journal entry this week. Whilst I agree with your points i wonder if its possible to every truly able to express ideas as one wants and not have predetermined factors of what one must believe, think or write! I mean in the HSC even if it was a text like Politics and the English Language, it is ingrained into every student how to analyse a particular poem and ultimately how to view the world. Isn't everyone allowed to be an individual as long as it’s in the confines of social expectations.
Perhaps I'm a pessimistic but your live journal really got me thinking deeply into what was said in Orwell’s "Politics and the English Language." One thing is certain as you so beautifully articulated "Words and the poet give life to anything as paint and an artist does to a picture and sometimes one must use a more complicated word to describe what one is feeling and that ‘simple’ word just won’t resonate what one wants to convey"
Thankyou for such an insightful work... I’m sorry my comment turned out to be more like a stream of conscious....

Thanks Justine its lovely to hear from you, but that's what it's all about those wonderful thoughts that come from a comment or a word that sparks the idea, which has a meaning further down in your soul and it's surfaces and then you can share it with all =)
