In my own world

UC kind of sucks. OSU sucked, in a way. OSU was awful in very special ways. Some of the problems I faced at OSU are...not so prominent anymore. But they will always be there. I felt like I had some friends there. Freshman year, maybe I was a little bit of a binge drinker. I had all of that depression bullshit going on, plus dreading AFROTC, hating school, and failing my classes. Sleeping too much. Not eating enough. Every time I think of Ohio State, I think, "Fuck Ohio State." It's a great school, and there were so many classes that I loved and so many professors that I respected. When I think about what I really, truly loved, it was research for my papers and reading Thucydides. I will never forget reading Thucydides. And now it's happening again. My historical idols are getting me through my loneliness, yet again. And I fall utterly in love with great political leaders and generals (I guess they're one and the same!). (I mean "love" in a strictly Platonic way, and I mean "Platonic" in the strictly modern interpretation.) And Greek tragedies bring me to tears, and comedies have me "LOL"ing in the library (though there's no shame in that--everyone in there laughs while they're reading...the ancients were funny, intentionally and unintentionally!). The artificial spoken Greek is so beautiful, but I don't get to hear it often enough. And Roman history... At the risk of sounding like a little kid, Augustus is awesome. I feel a connection, I guess, to Tiberius.

Obviously, there's a disconnect from reality.

Oh yeah, and before my last Greek test, I thought about Athena, hoping for some divinely-inspired wisdom. Based on my grade, I found out that she doesn't exist.
