As with my recent pictures that I posted, we have a mouse problem. Tonight was round 3.
I'm in my room and all of a sudden "BANG!"
I know what that sound is: it's the pain train. So I rush to the kitchen, open the cubpard under the sink and see that the rat trap has been set off. There's just one thing missing: the mouse. This is one of those traps that doesn't miss...it just doesn't. So after trying to figure out where the mouse escaped to, I hear a shuffling in the back of the cupboard. The poor little guy is looking at me and he's scared shitless. Scampering up a pole. The problem is, when the trap snapped down, it obviously broke the mouse's spine so now the mouse only has 2 working legs: the front ones. So I poke him out of the cupboards and he runs along the floor towards me, I scamper out of the way, he runs into the hallway, and towards my room. FUCK THIS, I grab a plastic bag, pick up him by his tail and chuck him in. Take him outside and let him free in the neighbors yard.
I thought it was over.
Washed my hands, got in my car and headed to the gym. Pulling out of my driveway, on the phone to my MIA roomate, and none other but the little paraplegic mouse scampering across the road into the other neighbors yard. I don't have the heart to kill him, so I just drive on and finish the story to my roomate.
It's still not over.
I get home 1 hour later, to see a cat grinning at me. It's the neighbors cat, but he/she pretty much lives on our property. Not really a grin i'm used to, something was in his/her mouth: the poor little mouse...still trying to run away with its two front legs. So I chase the cat (I love cats but I couldn't look at the mouse...seriously it spooked me. the thing stared at me before I captured it. so much guilt) and it runs away.
It's over.
The mouse is out of my life. The trap will be reset and the pain train will strike again.
Choo Choo.
