I actually have a RL friend who has suddenly discovered HP!
I may die from the shock. Up until now, I haven't had a single RL
friend who has even read the books, aside from my hubby. I was
introduced to the series by an intern at my company, and then we
promptly lost contact. So for the last four years, I've never known
anyone with whom I could discuss HP outside of the internet and loooong
phone calls!.
Now I need help: My friend wants to know where I could send her to read up on HP theories and see what's being discussed. I would've sent her to our Book6Thoughts group, except I really don't want her stumbling upon my LJ. I'd have to go back and lock way too many entries first.
My friend is more conservative than I am, about 36 years old, and definitely not ready for the shock of discovering NC-17 HP fanfic, particularly the slash stuff. I'd also rather not send her to something filled with netspeak and tiresome teen angst and snippy fights. She is, however, absolutely obsessed with the books and anxious to read every theory she can get her hands on. Therefore, thus far I suggested The Leaky Lounge & HP for grownups. Hopefully a "New Clues" book will get released by this Christmas, as right now the only pertinent book I can think to loan her is "The Plot Thickens."
Any suggestions for sites or books I can rec?
Oh, and today was the first day back at work for me at the preschool. I've got a small class and no screamer or tantrum-throwers have been detected thus far. So all is well.
