Tell me your 9/11 stories

Each year I re-post the memories which many of you have shared with me of your experiences on 9/11 and I ask the rest of you to please tell me your stories, too.

*Phew* I'm glad you found my babbling fascinating.

Huh, I'd never really thought of his speech the way you describe either. Isn't it interesting how our own outlook based on where we are from, how we live and how we are in relation to others can change how we react/respond/interpret things like this.

What you say about it being targeted to the middle east does make sense. I don't know that I ever thought an actual attack would be made on Canada. I think it ws more that the message that I (and other Canadians - I know it was discussed and I'm not the only one who interpreted it that way - it was all over our news and everything) got was basically that there was an expectation that we support the US or we would become the enemy. It's interesting that that's really not what was meant but so many people here heard it that way. In fact any variation on that phrase "You're either with us or against us" makes me cringe and can get me defensive.

Your story about Benedict Arnold made me laugh. It's true any attempted invasions of Canada have not gone well in the past.
