I know I already replied to this in email but I love it so much I can't resist replying here too. I'm right there with you in lala land 'cause I'm already hoping this will happen. Hopefully someone will catch me when I inevitably fall back to reality. LOL.
LaLa Land is a lovely place to reside. I just wish I could wholly convince myself that this was probable! I think the odds of us seeing DT as the Doctor again is quite likely. The extent to which that happens (a whole episode vs. a flashback or Children in Need 10 min special) is what's debatable. *sigh*
It IS rather lovely here isn't it? More people should move here - anything is possible.
I do hope it ends up being a whole episode at least but I imagine it will be a while before they do anything like that. They'll want to make sure eleven is firmly established first.

Yes, I 100% agree. It wouldn't really be fair to Matt Smith if DT was still floating about and stealing the DW fan's concentration and attention. He deserves the chance to grow into the role. In many ways, DT lucked out in inheriting the role from an actor who didn't want anything to do with the BBC, because it kept CE completely out of the picture while fans adjusted to DT.
Yeah, DT was lucky in that way. Although he was great in the role, he really made it his own and I think that's part of what won people over. I'm worried about the next transition though, I'm so attached to DT it's going to be hard to get used to a new Doctor. But it's only fair to give him a chance... right?
Also, I think your logic is perfectly sound. :)
