Day of Yuck
Today has really sucked.
Then on top of everything, mockingbird39 texts me today with the news that David Tennant is quitting as Doctor Who. As cookie2697 said, it's not really a surprise. That doesn't make it suck any less. I can't imagine this is news to anyone, but here' the ARTICLE (with video interview) and the youtube clip which cookie2697 had up on her journal:
I'm just hoping that sense he loved playing the Doctor so much, maybe we'll luck out and there will be occasional specials with him and Rose in the alt universe? I'm not particularly longing for a DW movie. I like the show just fine as it is, and some of the specials are practically movie-length anyway. But RTD made some flippant remark recently about how he expects that sooner or later there will be a DW movie. If so, then again I'm hoping it'll be a continuation of Rose and the Doctor.
I'm not as invested in their romance as some (or at least I tell myself that), since I gather that many don't think they'll like the show anymore without the two of them. But Sarah Jane and Rose are definitely my two favorites of the companions we've encountered so far. So the idea that the Doctor/Rose dynamic will continue is exciting to me. Remember the way the two of them were together during "The Idiot's Lantern"? Or in "Fear Her"? In fact, courtesy of my mood theme and a few favorite icons, you're now getting images of some of my favorite Rose/Ten moments. (Hey, it's not like I'm going to force you to sit through a video montage!)
