After the terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day I had, this was really good to read. You don’t need to have read any of the other stories in this fantastic series in order for this one to make sense, but I’ll offer a quick run down:
In Distractions, set during OotP, Theodore Nott got to know a Muggleborn girl named Anne Farleigh. Their friendship changes the way he looks at everything. Little niggling doubts he’d had about his family’s pureblood views are suddenly issues he’s forced to confront. Ultimately he realizes that in order to save his friend and save his soul, he may have to lose his family.
Dispatches is a new story as part of this universe. This canon-compliant story opens during the summer of 1997, shortly before the Ministry falls. It’s a different perspective than we were able to fully see in Deathly Hallows - what it’s like to be an underaged Muggleborn on the run. It’s a terrifying, brilliant read.

Elsha 1997 is a very bad year in the wizarding world. If you’re a Muggleborn witch or a Death Eater’s son, it’s as bad as it can possibly get. Just hold on. Disverse, AU to other stories after Discussions but draws on them, canon compliant as of DH.
