I don't usually rec fan art. In fact, I think this is the first time, other than perhaps referencing
seviet on occasion. It's not that I'm not interested in it; it's just that I'm so picky about how I view the characters - what firm images are in my head - that I'm generally not that interested in how other people draw them. Plus, to be frank, so many of the fan artists I've seen are heavily influenced by anime. *shudder*
Anyway, though,
reallycorking has
two gorgeous pictures up that I had to mention.
The first one of Tonks and Lupin captures a great moment. Lupin looks a lot younger and Tonks a tiny bit older than I picture, but otherwise this is fantastic. I'd forgotten how she grabbed his robes in that scene. This artwork does a great job of making tangible that angsty scene.
The second one is of the Erised scene with Harry in PS/SS. Mary Grand Pre's picture of this scene has always been a favorite of mine, but I think this picture captures a bit more of the bitterness and utter pain in that moment, even though I'll certainly concede that Grand Pre's art is more polished.
