Fan art

I don't usually rec fan art.  In fact, I think this is the first time, other than perhaps referencing
seviet on occasion.  It's not that I'm not interested in it; it's just that I'm so picky about how I view the characters - what firm images are in my head - that I'm generally not that interested in how other people draw them.  Plus, to be frank, so many of the fan artists I've seen are heavily influenced by anime. *shudder*

Anyway, though,
reallycorking has two gorgeous pictures up that I had to mention.

The first one of Tonks and Lupin captures a great moment.  Lupin looks a lot younger and Tonks a tiny bit older than I picture, but otherwise this is fantastic.  I'd forgotten how she grabbed his robes in that scene.  This artwork does a great job of making tangible that angsty scene.

The second one is of the Erised scene with Harry in PS/SS.  Mary Grand Pre's picture of this scene has always been a favorite of mine, but I think this picture captures a bit more of the bitterness and utter pain in that moment, even though I'll certainly concede that Grand Pre's art is more polished.
