I don't know about y'all, but I usually don't bother listening to either
Mugglecast or
Pottercast. Mugglecast, in particular, really doesn't interest me. It's a bunch of teenage boys with rather limited perspectives hashing out the books, talking over one another, and not (from my admittedly limited experience) actually contributing any new information to the fan discussions. Pottercast is a bit more interesting, because the hosts are adults with more professional experience and thus broader perspectives on the publishing and film industries, plus they have better guests. Even so, I can probably count on one hand how many times I've waded through all their inside jokes to get to the point of the podcast.
But tonight I got suckered in to listening to Mugglecast, since they claimed to have an answer as to why the wording on Harry's hand has been changed. Don't waste your time listening - they had no such answer. It was, again, a bunch of teenage boys theorizing and making very little sense.
I'm mostly irritated at myself now, as it's 1am and I sat up way too late listening to this thing, thinking that since they kept stressing they had "An explanation for why they changed the writing on Harry's hand," that this actually meant they had a scoop for us from the movie producers, perhaps as a result of their set visit. The two theories they threw out, though, made little sense and had no authoritative basis to them.
Sigh.
Someone explain to me why this is annoying me so much? Is it just because I'm a sleep-deprived, grouchy old bitch?
Wait. Don't answer that.
;-D
