Yeah, right
So, awhile back I went off on a rant about how I wish Terry Gilliam could have directed one of the HP films, as JKR had originally wished, but I knew it would never, ever, ever happen. Stupid Hollywood.
Now, IMDB is reporting that Terry Gilliam is slated to direct Half-Blood Prince. I understand that they were talking at one point about filming OotP and HBP back to back, thanks to Steve Kloves coming back to work on the 6th script almost immediately after HBP was released in July. So that would support the idea that they'd be talking about directors already. But I still think it sounds rather early for that kind of announcement.
Regardless of the timing, though, there's no way I will believe Terry Gilliam is getting hired as the director till WB announces it themselves. It's too far-fetched. He would be BRILLIANT as the director, but I can't begin to imagine them accepting him, especially after that interview he gave.
Still, what a shame. And for IMDB to post such an unsubstantiated rumor is just cruel! It's like waving chocolate in my face, when I know I'll never get to have it. *sniff-sniff!*
