And yeah, IMHO Sam would need to ask because Dean dropping bombshells didn't exactly work so well in S4. I love the concept though of what Dean went through having some actual benefit, even if Sam can't bring himself to ask just yet.
(Oh man, thank you for pointing that out! I'll definitely get that corrected right away.)

Though back on topic, thanks for the link! And YES Dean is v. v. much entitled to a bit of rage at that concept. Then again, one of my favorite concepts in stories is the pawn who makes it to the other side of the board and becomes a queen...
Not that Dean is a queen. But you know what I mean.

...Dean is too skinny to be a bear. Also, not furry enough. WHY DOES MY BRAIN EVEN CONSIDER THIS CONCEPT.
Bobby would totally be the bear.
Sick!Dean is a lovely thing. Maybe you could hint at Dean getting sick after the fact?

Even though technically I already owe a DIFFERENT sick!Dean fic that still hasn't been written. *cough*
Someone wrote a Bobby/Lucifer crack fic for the kink meme under the prompt "Banana Hammock, Lucifer is a size queen" and my brain would have blown if the Sam/God one or the Lucifer/Sarah Palin prompts hadn't gone there first. I think someone else wrote Misha/First Lady but I was too scared to look.
Amnesia!fic is epic win though. Did you read that Sam one I gave you the link to?

Um. As for my sick!Dean, I've, uh, managed some 5100 words and now have gotten stuck. Would you be willing to take a look at it and see if you can help get me unmired?

It's very good. :) More like something for a Sam prompt than I was thinking as it focuses alot more on Sam's feelings and thoughts and Dean's were what I wanted, but it's very good and I thank you very much for responding to my request. I'm glad it inspired a really good fic, even if it's different from what I had in mind. It's well written and it's a heck of a lot more than the show has given us(I don't get it, Dean's time behind enemy lines is RIPE for use, practical use, and they've just ignored it). :)

You're absolutely right about Dean's time in Hell and your prompt was the most awesome thing I'd seen in ages - thought provoking as well as intriguing - so it was a lot of fun to play around with. You're absolutely right as well, there's SO MUCH to draw on there. I mean, come on, it's forty flipping years! Even if it were pretty much constant torture for most of it, there's a full decade where you'd think other things would be going on. If nothing else, I'd expect some sort of impact from all the demon politics mentioned in S3, you know?
I hope someone else takes the prompt and runs with it from Dean's POV. I tried writing it from his side but it felt too bitter and not epic enough. (Not that this is particularly epic, but...) It's such a nifty concept though! I'd love to read someone else's take on it.
Seriously, I totally didn't mean to get on your case ( ... )
