This is my Halloween post that I'd started and never remembered to post. So enjoy.
So life is very topsy-turvy at the moment, but actually in a good way. Halloween has come and gone and Thanksgiving and Christmas are around the corner. I finally figured out what I’m doing for Christmas presents this year by way of cleaning out my closet. Let’s just say I was inspired by simplicity and leave it at that.
My Halloween was terribly exciting, frustrating, sad, and funny, all at the same time. Friday night was the Rock Horror Picture Show at UAA, and I was set to go with Clif, Crystal, and Kelly (a friend from school), and my brother was going to a youth lock-in, and my parental units were going to the hockey game. I had called Crystal Wednesday night to make sure we were on for Friday and she said yes. We were going to arrange for me to pick her up after work and she would come over to my house and help me with hair and make-up, as I would also help her with the same. But I forgot to call her Thursday to arrange shit, and I was frantically trying to call her Friday evening to get a hold of her as Rocky Horror started at nine. Finally, I caught her, but she had to go out to dinner with her boyfriend’s parents, But she still came over to help me with my hair and make-up and I was pretty damn hot. They left, then I left and headed over to UAA where I put on my 5-inch heels in the parking lot. A girl coming as Janet walked towards the door with me and Clif caught up to us, running on his thin heels (he’d come in drag), and we all walked in. Clif and I met up with Kelly and her friends, and proceeded to take seats, fling popcorn around and have a good time. There wasn’t as large an audience as last year, nor as much participation, but everyone got into the swing and yelled “SLUT!”, “ASSHOLE!”, and a number of other vulgarities that you are supposed to yell. After the show, we went our separate ways, Clif to Myrna’s and I home, and I couldn’t fall asleep until after five.
I woke up Saturday around eight in the morning and was in a general snarky mood cause I had so much to do. I cleaned the downstairs and had to beg and plead to get a bunch of Jason’s crap moved, because all it was doing was sitting in a nasty little pile, taking up space and pissing me off. Gary finally moved it, and I proceeded to set up. I realized however, a bit too late, that our decorations are nearly twenty years old so I thought I’d dress things up with some colored streamers, and ran over to Partycraft to pick some up. I saw Aki and Ry there, and stood behind them in a long line, got said streamers, and ran home. I was in a bit of a panic because I ended up running out of streamer before my design idea was finished, and suddenly everyone started calling to say they’d be a little late, and I was becoming terribly stressed and ended up breaking down into tears, sobbing in a pile of webbing. My brother sent me to take a shower and sweetly put up webbing for me. I had a cry in the shower, felt better when I got out and got dressed to finish setting up. Clif and his brother showed up, set up far too much stuff (I love these guys), and helped me finish decorating. Jim showed up and helped me put up some more webbing, than we popped in a DVD, and waited as people began to arrive. There was Jim, Jesse, Clif, Tom, Aki, Crystal, Josh (her boyfriend), Dana, Shad, Tom, Bear, Jess, Preston, and I can’t remember who else showed up, but I remember it being very crowded at one point. Crystal forgot the make-up we had used for my costume at home and ran back to get it. I didn’t finally get into full costume until nearly 11. And when I did, I looked very cool, if I do say so myself. By that time, the only ones left were myself, Jesse, Dana, Shad, Aki, Preston (I think), and Steve, who showed up a little after 11 dressed as Alucard from Hellsing. Needless to say, this boy is extremely cute! And he reminds me of you in a way, Orion.
We went over to Jewel Lake where we met Dan and Dave, got ourselves a lane and bowled, while some danced. Bowling was trickier than I thought it would be in that dress. The slit was so high, I kept having to pull the dress together because so much of my leg showed. Bear, Jess, Rachel, and Ry eventually showed up and everyone seemed to have a good time. We met Bear and Jess at Denny’s, along with Clif, who was fresh from Myrna’s. And we all talked and had a good time, except I was exhausted from the entire day, and had to take Jesse and Steve back to my place so they could go home. But Clif was being a bit of a bastard because he didn’t understand I was completely and utterly dead on my feet and was absorbed in the conversation with some new friends he’d made. I lost my patience and left, telling Jesse they could pick up their stuff the next day, but that I desperately needed sleep. I drove Steve back to my place and do believe that I rather fancy him.
