Dr. Maggie Burroughs (A Nightmare on Elm Street)

Nov 22, 2009 23:47

While not the most renowned doctor in Landel's, Dr. Maggie Burroughs is still more than capable of her job, having taken up a side of her profession some others find themselves too good to touch - psychiatric care for abused and troubled children. Even at the age of 28, she's managed to gain respect of those in the area for her professionalism and total devotion to her work. This devotion has made her promise again and again that she would never stray from this, that she would do anything in her power to help kids and teens from becoming monstrous adults. No amount of money could make her turn her back on the people who need her.

Still, certain issues back home have caused her to wish for something different, something very, very far away from Springwood, Ohio. On a whim, she chose Landel's, keeping with her wish to help those she could. Though she may not seem to get enough sleep and occasionally comes off as cold to many at first glance, it's obvious Maggie is particularly serious when it comes to her field.

There isn't much to say about her office, though. Not particularly used to working in such a richly funded establishment, her office only contains the barest of necessities: a neatly kept desk with a black coffee-maker sitting on top of it, two gray file cabinets, a small couch, a corkboard on the far wall tacked with various papers and pictures, and two comfortable looking chairs for both doctor and patients. Aside from the odd poster of 'dream-demons' on her wall and the seemingly random pair of 3D glasses on her desk, Dr. Burroughs gives off a 'run-of-the-mill therapist' vibe.

Anyone to search the room at night, however, might get a different impression; aside from the uncomfortable feeling that something is watching you, tucked inside the desk are files on unsolved and bizarre deaths (all seeming to revolve around teenagers and children), nightmare-related research papers, and bottles of No-Doze. And it really doesn't help that, despite all her good intentions, most of her patients end up having horrific nightmares about their worst fears after paying her a visit...
