Skirt vs trousers

In the last couple of weeks, I have joined a Masters troupe of marching girls (having never marched in my life). The organisation that sets the rules for marching has recently decreed that Masters grade marchers (who can be any age over 25 years) must wear trousers instead of the traditional short skirts that the other grades wear. This discrimination made the ladies (marching girls are girls or ladies, NEVER women - antiquated? You bet! But they'll chuck out the skirts and not the language?) on my team so incensed that they ended up on CloseUp (if you want to watch the story, go here search using 'marching', it’s the second hit you get).
If it makes any difference to anyone, we wear the same tights that ice skaters wear, and those things make even my dimply thighs look smooth and toned! So sign so we can show some leg!
