We worked on Shar's final film throughout most of last week. It went something like this, Monday. 12:30pm. Call time. Shooting starts. 11:00pm. Rain Pours. Shooting stops. 1:30am. Still raining. 2:00am. Direk decides on having a day 2. Tuesday. 10:00am. Meeting to think of a plan b story just in case it rains again. 1:30pm. Non-prod related meeting. 7:00pm. No sign of rain. 8:30pm. Call time. Shooting starts. 6:30am. Wrap. Wednesday. Sleep. 2:00pm. Capture video. 7:00pm. Edit at Marco's. Thursday. 10:30am. Editing finishes, starts to color grade. 3:30pm. Burn that DVD! 4:30pm. Screening at Ateno. Whoa. Anyway, I'm very proud of the final outcome and all those who worked on the project, especially direk Shar.

There was something about getting my hands dirty with prod work again that was mildly intoxicating. I want to do it again. This just basically screws up my short to medium term plan (kamusta naman ang short to medium term? national economic goals ba 'to?) A few months back, I made a decision to forget advertising and production as my main profession and go to where my heart was leading me, back to government service. At the most, I told myself I could still do it on the side, maybe put up a prod related business or just drop by shoots once in a while, but not to directly engage the creative process like I did this week.

So basically, I don't know what I'm doing. Or rather, I know what I'm doing, but I dont exactly know where this is all going. It's cool. Actually quite exciting. Who knows, I might just find a way to bring the two together and be another Lino Broka in the making. mwahaha feeling! =) (Yeah, like what we need now are more reminders of how third-world we are. Get over it people. We're poor but we could still be happy.) Anyway, I'm just going to enjoy this moment of transition a bit and hope to god I don't get lost (lost in transition.. haha, baduy.) Talon nalang...

Mom Story of the Week
#1
Mom: Gino! Wag ka muna maglakad without your crutches! Hindi pa yan fully healed.
Gino: Ok lang yan. I could walk na naman eh. It doesn't hurt anymore and at least I could start getting back my range of movement.
Mom: Eh sabi ng doctor six weeks pa yan!
Gino: Six weeks before I could start doing strenuous activites and exercise again. Not walking.
Mom: Nangyari na rin yan sa akin and it took six weeks before I could walk.
Gino: Well I guess it differs from person to person. Like the amount of damage and the person's age.
Mom: No, mine nga happened before pa eh!
Gino: Like how long ago?
Mom: Mga five years ago.
Gino: ... (mentally computes)

#2:
On the way home from Church early this afternoon.
Mom: Alam niyo (my brother and me) I read somewhere that having a large waistline makes you more prone to disease. Dapat magreduce na tayo.
Gino: Mom, you're the one that buys all the junk and eats it before I get to.
Mom: Oo nga. We should stop buying na.
Gino: And if you want to get thinner, we could fry less and start grilling more.
(A really long conversation on how to change our diet at home)

Later this afternoon.
Gino: Mom, I'm just going to Greenhills to buy something. I'll probably work there a bit after.
Mom: Are you coming home for dinner?
Gino: Yeah pero mga 7:30 pa siguro.
Mom: Can you drive-throug Jolibee for my dinner on the way home?
Gino: ...
