Time Marches On

Tick Tock. The watch face changes and time is a harsh mistress.

Five people die of AIDS every minute. At 2:30 pm, fourteen and a half hours had passed in the day. There are 870 minutes in fourteen and a half hours.

As of 2:30 pm today, 4,350 people died of AIDS and AIDS related illnesses.

4,350 people are gone in one day at the mercy of one disease.

Tomorrow at 2:30 pm, another 4,350 people will be gone.

On Sunday, 4,350 people will die before 2:30 pm as well. And on Monday. On Tuesday next week. On every day stretched into the future, if we don't do something.

And the clock doesn't stop at 2:30 pm. The body count ticks along, rising with every tock of the clock.

Five people every minute.

Just one person is too much.
