Title: Peace
Rating: G or Pg. completely worksafe
Summary: Angel’s point of view during Amends stands on the hill waiting for the sun to kill him.
Pairing: Buffy/Angel
A/n: Part of an experiment, I had to include the words snowy and abnormal in the story. Which made me think of Amends. The line that starts strong is fighting, is a direct quote from the episode.
Angel couldn’t deal anymore. It was too hard fighting. He stood silently on the hill and he waited for the sun to rise. Buffy was coming, he could smell her. She was the one thing he would truly miss. He listened half heartedly as Buffy tired to talk him out of it. But, sometimes it was just too hard to fight.
“Strong is fighting! It's hard, and it's painful, and it's every day. It's what we have to do. And we can do it together. But if you're too much of a coward for that, then burn. If I can't convince you that you belong in this world, then I don't know what can. But do not expect me to watch. And don't expect me to mourn for you, because...”
The weather turned abnormal, and snow began falling. They both knew she had been lying; Buffy would have mourned his passing for the rest of her life. He took her hand in his. Words weren’t necessary now, but she spoke anyway.
“Don’t leave me Angel!”
Her voice made the words a plea, and he didn’t know how to answer. He couldn’t really answer.
“I don’t know what the future holds.”
A tear welled up in her eye ad he gently wipe it away with his finger.
“Careful, it’s so snowy that tears could freeze.”
She managed a tiny smile.
“I love you.”
”I love you too Buffy.”
He put an arm around her waist, and enjoyed being close to her. The future would have to wait.
