Me update

I've just completed my first round of Chemo. Whoo Hoo!!  The schedule is 3 days in a row for 4 hours a day. Then 3 weeks off, then 3 more days in a row for 4 hours a day, so far.  I did okay through the actual treatments (no immediate reaction to either of the chemo meds) but the nausea caught up with me the second day (until treatment time) and today.  Urg. :-P   I'm sitting here at work  trying to eat lunch and not doing too bad, but the tale will be told later this afternoon. heh.

I'm supposed to be going to the boy's Fall Sports kickoff tonight, but who knows if I am going to make it.  Maybe if I take off early from work, I'll be okay to go.  Tomorrow is the Family Football picnic and I definitely need to be there for that because that's where you pay for all the stuff for your child, like paw prints in your driveway, and dinners for the away games, and misc. crap like that.

My nurses said that on day 7 to 10 is when I should really feel bad cause that is when my blood count is going to go down  and I should really feel like crap, plus be prone to infection which means staying away from people, which means not going to work.  That's why I am here now. Clocking hours while I still can.  I'm still not feeling very with it mentally, which has been the most disconcerting thing about this whole experience.  Turning into a mental 5 year old has probably been the most difficult part of this whole ordeal.  My logic reasoning - a,b,c,d step-by-step thinking - is nil.  My ability to concentrate and remember anything, no matter how important, is minimal.  So far, I have had to turn all of my financial stuff over to my father, and I do mean everything including my weekly paychecks, so that he can dole out the cash as needed to me and the kids.

Anyway,  that's it for now.  I'm going home to get ready for tonight. Wish me luck. :-)
