One down, one to go

My daughter is officially a freshman in college, today. And, I am officially dead. :-P So tired, so sore, so brain-dead, I can hardly function. God only knows what I am doing at work, because I sure don't, heh.

Yesterday was fun, though. T was so excited to be there, finally, and I was just as excited for her. The college she's going to is a liberal arts college and it's right up her alley. She is a thinker and loves school; loves to explore new ideas, learn new things, and that is what this college emphasizes rather than just running the kids through for a professional degree. She may not be employable when she graduates, but she will be plenty smart, lol.

It's going to be strange just having one child at home now, especially since he is starting high school. He's on the freshman football team, so he won't home until about 6:30 to 7 p.m. every night. And then, of course, there's the homework and hanging with friends, so I have a feeling I won't be seeing him much. Although, he is still counting on me for rides to school in the morning and pickups in the evening, so he'll be forced to interact with me for twenty minutes a day, at least. Is it strange to have empty-nest syndrome when you still have a child at home? :-P Oh well, anyway you look at it, it's going to be an interesting fall thats for sure.
