Can't... move...

Finally met our other professors. We're taking volleyball in FWTEAMS and I am really really thankful for that, but I still have to teach the others in basic volleying (a.k.a. not running away from the ball and actually returning it to the other side). Our Biology teacher seems interesting, and he's really witty too. As for ROTC, that's something different altogether.

I had my first ROTC meeting/"training day" (as they call it). I wanted to join everything (except Medics):
Shore Patrol - rifle assembly, and I get to beat up "intruders" if the need arises
Radio and Communications - morse code and frequency reading is fun
Navigation - compass and map reading is one of my strengths, plus they recommended Dean's Listers for it
Model Batallion - I like drills (especially when it concerns rifles)
MOCC - I wanted to become an officer

I didn't like to join Medics because treating wounds in the middle of a battlefield (or if someone just fainted from the heat of the sun) is simply not my thing. So I joined the Model Batallion instead... and I'm the assistant batch rep (it's such an ego booster when people you don't even know voted for you). Yayness! ^_^ But it was a bit hard, just standing there beside the batch rep, both of you doing nothing and just staring straight ahead (and occasionally answering the questions of the seniors) while the others are practicing the commands. But since they decided to be sadistic in the last minute, they made us do "20 pumps". And doing "20 pumps" when I was just standing and doing nothing right before that, finishing in the same frozen position before I started then ordering us to scram (in layman's terms: standing, doing pumps, then standing still again, then running) took a toll on me. Needless to say, I ended my first week of the second term with sore arms and legs. I blame that on last-minute sadism and military counting (it doubles the actual count of the exercise).
