(no subject)
i just got back from a job fair at the dept of labor. i should start by saying im appreciative of the things they have done for me, and esp for my unemployment check, but this job fair was a dud if there ever was one. I stood in line with a really nice girl named Crystal for about an hour and a half once we got into the building. thats not a problem, there are alot of people needing jobs, so whatever, but once we got to the actual fair we were all confused.
11 booths total. some not even manned. some not even with jobs, army, etc. i stopped by all but comcast to see what they had to say and they werent even taking resumes, they referred us to thier website. they didnt even know details about the jobs.
so i went down the line, but one booth i was really interested in was unmanned, so one of the organizers told me to come back. well, i tried to go back and they didnt want to let me. i couldnt go "against the traffic". thats ok, but its 10 booths.. we are talking about maybe 25'. i went back, and the guy at the booth next door said that no one ever showed up to man the booth, but they were letting people stand there waiting for this person that isnt coming.
im happy to be home.
