Tolerance People, for Christ's Sake!!!!
The American Family Association has recently taken a stance against NBC's broadcast of Madonna's "Confessions Tour" concert in Italy. Here is what they say:
"NBC has decided to join in the bashing of Christians by airing a Madonna special in November... In the show, Madonna, wearing a fake crown of thorns, descends on a suspended mirrored, disco ball-type cross. When some Christian leaders complained about the mockery, NBC ignored their concerns... Kevin Reilly, an executive at NBC, said Madonna considered the scene mocking the crucifixion of Christ the highlight of her show. "We (NBC) viewed it and didn't see it as being inappropriate." Madonna considers mocking the crucifixion of Jesus the highlight of her show and NBC agrees."

The truth is never far behind

Her point as you will see, is that we should help give aid to the children of Africa and teach them about Aids- this is the secret she is alluding to; knowledge of a subject that we, no matter what our denomination, need to share with the people of Africa. In the link above you will find the video in it's entirety, and you will see that Madonna has scriptures quoted above her. The scripture above her as the song ends is "Whatever you do to the least of my brethren, ye have done unto me." She's actually ENCOURAGING Christ-like behavior and charity, not mocking it. It's actually a very moving performance. This is a blatant lie, a slander that can be wholly attributed to the AFA. Granted, it's a little over the top with the crown of thorns and Madonna as Jesus, but that is her trademark- doing what is necessary to get your attention. And it worked.
We should all personally research the truth behind any subject and come to our own conclusions, whether it be voting for president, approving measures within our own city, or religion. The AFA is using their influence to promote their own agenda, and unfortunately too many people are willing to blindly follow in ignorance without actually seeking the truth.
As a "vicitim" of religious prejudice based on blatant untruths and lies spread by those who are ignorant to my religious beliefs, this is scary to me, because I am fully well aware of the millions of people who will simply read this email, watch the AFA edited video clip, and proudly promote slandering, malicious, repugnant lies with their John Hancock. And yet they call themselves Christian. Interestingly enough, I recall Madonna's own lyrics: "THE TRUTH IS NEVER FAR BEHIND." In fact, the lyrics of "Live to Tell" are ironically fitting to this entire situation. I now know of one organization that will not lead me to the truth - the AFA. I have learned this lesson well, and I will tell all those that I know before they are led astray by the hateful misguidance of the AFA.
