that cat
got back about 21.00 on Saturday night to a very obviously ill cat. grevo looked terrible, really skinny and disheveled. found out from the cat sitter that he had hardly eaten a thing all week. I was very concerned that he was dehydrated and this would lead to organ failure. so after failing to get him to eat or drink anything, we took him to the emergency vets on Sunday. they kept him in all day and got a lot of fluid in him. however they found a large lump on his guts and signs of liver failure, the liver failure is probably a secondary cause from having no food for a week.
we got the poor wee mite home last night, with a stunt still in his leg.
today we took him to the normal vets and had to leave him, knowing if they found the worst on the operating table they would never wake him up again.
the vets just phoned to say, he has cancer. one large mass and many small ones in his gut. we are going to try chemotherapy, due to the problems with his liver, he has about 50/50 chance, maybe a bit less. it is going to a long recovery if he makes it.
we will know more later today.
