My love for John Simm just increased after seeing this:

Aw at him in the big suit at 6:40, he looks like a big baby! And his little eye-squint at 7:54, nyaawww. But my favourite bit, I actually laughed out loud, is from 3:45 to 3:50 when he looks so embarrased in that pink dress! Don't worry John, your fanbase enjoyed it very much. A bit too much, really. Heh.
And of course, how could I post without talking about... HEROES!!!!!!
I have one thing to say: PETER AND CLAIRE ARE AMAZING AND WHY WERE THEY EVER RELATED THEY'RE SO CUTE AND I'M PROUD TO BE ONE OF THEIR (MANY) DERANGED SHIPPERS. I WILL BE POSTING A GIANT PICSPAM WHEN SCREENCAPS ARE POSTED.
Glad that's over with, *ahem*. So here are my more coherant thoughts on the episode:
Hmm, I think the second episode was much, much stronger than the first. In fact, I think the first was pretty poor.
4x13:
- They should have mentioned Nathan's death more. It wasn't some cliffhanger which you can drag out, it was a major character's death. The fact that it was barely even alluded to did not score points.
- Too much emphasis on minor characters. Claire's included in this, only because she wasn't playing a big role in the main storyline at that point. Again, I think the focus really needed to be on the Petrellis straight-off. I love the Carnies, and I agree Samuel's storyline is interesting, but a whole episode of it? Too slow-paced for my liking.
- Claire and Lydia: Sisters.
I liked their scenes alot. And never thought I'd say this, but aww Doyle!
- Funeral scene was fantastic. Claire's entrance was a bit dramatic, but oh well
Peter's speech was really sad
4x14:
- This was really good! The Peter/Claire scenes were very sweet (yes okay I'm biased), but what I liked most about it was Claire's clear progression of character. In 4x13 she was very in character, but we immediatly see her strong, mature side come out - which has been gradually built up since Season 1. So well done to the writers on that. I liked Peter and Claire's role reversal as well, now it's Claire's turn to be there for him.
- Angela, how I love thee. Treating Peter and Claire like the babies of the family? Made of win. Peter's thirty, Angie.
- Sylar and Lydia = hot hot hot, and I know I'm in the minority there
- I'm also in the minority here but apart from the last scene I didn't really get the Sylaire vibes that people are talking about? Last scene most definitely on Sylar's part though! I liked the way it ended, it was a great cliffhanger.
- Basically this episode worked because it showed what people wanted to see: the aftermath of Nathan's death. And boy was it sad, emotional, heart-breaking, and everything else we expected to be. The ONLY complaint I have with this episode is I would have really liked to see Claire's immediate reaction to her father's death.
And in the meanwhile, here's a pretty Paire gif to remind everyone just how awesome and shippy and couple-y they are:
Thank-you to Jas at FanForum for making it :) Seriously, those longing looks should not be between uncles and nieces.
OH and it might snow tomorrow. Which means NO SCHOOL FOR ME, even though it'll only be the first day back. Today has been GREAT!
