A quick note about the spot we are calling home for this week.
It is Kathleen and Mike's cabin that they graciously let use use this week. Please note that the cabin is still bigger than our house and garage put together. LOL.
The kitchen is a good size. Even enough room for Mom and I to do some tandum cooking as well as letting space for Brian to get a cup of coffee without getting run down.
First evening we mostly just unpacked the car and I fixed hamburger pie. Brian and I had the loft area so Mom didn't have to deal with the stairs. (Open stairs aren't a favorite.) What is so fabulous is every window has a view. Even the window over the sink.
First morning up, I was up before everyone else. Got coffee started and sat out on the deck to work on writing up my notes and just to enjoy the morning. Loads of bird calls that I didn't recognize. And a small young squirrel was trying to decide if it wanted to get on a branch closer to the deck to investigate. (He wasn't that brave). Oh, and the cranky hummingbird mafia who buzzed me twice to let me know that the feeder was empty and I had better hop to it.
