I'm not very good at this online journalling thing, as evidenced by the fact that my last post was just over a year ago. But I am going to try again, and hereby commit to posting once a week. Once a week, at least, I may actually have something to say. And so...

My sleep is all messed up. The season is changing here and all the pollen and dust have been upsetting Joe's allergies. His restlessness and coughing have kept me from sleep so many nights that now, when his allergies and asthma are finally settling down, I find I am unable to sleep.

I have a heavy housework day ahead of me tomorrow--but sleep is proving elusive. I'm supposed to be going through all our odds and ends of clothing, sorting out what I'm sending to St. Vinnie's tomorrow. Although we moved in January, my protracted stays in Australia (due to Dad being sick and Ben's wedding), and the depression that went with (and continues to go with) losing two of my babies (Alpha and Gamma), I'm only just now sorting out the unpacking etc. from the move.

Last weekend, I cleared the hallway of boxes, packed up all the things I need to send to Australia, and gave Joe the miscellaneous notebooks, textbooks, and Lego that had amassed about our 600 sq. ft./55.75 sq. m space. I've also given away a lot of the superfluous furniture we've collected over the past 6 years. I am, however, still stuck with a Tonka Truck toy box in the living room.

I gave up martial arts a couple of months ago, too. The classes were growing too violent for me to be comfortable with them, and the atmosphere too competitive for my taste. But I find that I need to be learning something so, come Monday, I'm starting another couple of writing courses (I took a workshop on general fiction in July). I'm both excited and nervous. I'm still rather shy and awkward with people I don't know, but I'm attempting to overcome it. I actually have a coffee thing coming up with someone I met in my previous writing class, and on-going correspondence with a couple of people from the same place.
