I wrote this primarily to work out my own frustrations and disappointments regarding this situation, and have been debating whether or not to post, but since it affected me in my personal domain I think I will...

Re:      LJ Drama into which I have been dragged

To those involved,

The facts:
-      I hate drama
-      Much needless drama has intruded into LJ-land.
-      I am neither in the UK, nor have I met any of you personally, however, I have enjoyed much internet fun with you ALL.

I have chosen to remain willfully ignorant of the details of this current drama;
a) The details are none of my business, and
b) I don’t wish to become involved in the taking of sides in a He Said / She Said / They Said situation. - It is counter-productive and I am not known for my patience as a counselor, or mediator.
As a result I have not read the volley of “Pot-Shot” posts ALL sides in this conflict have fired through LJ at each other.  I am referring to all posts that make purposely veiled references to “some people” or “a certain person”, etc, and then list one or more “grievance”.

Matt,
I like you, and I have always enjoyed the random conversations we have had, but I am extremely disappointed. I have defriended you on LJ because the vile, malicious, and repugnant comments you left on several of my friends’ journals have, in my opinion, crossed the line.  Regardless of how maligned you feel, and no matter how angry you are at people, there is no excuse for those kind of vicious remarks.
I will not have my friends feeling uncomfortable about talking to me in my own journal for fear of your retaliation or comments.
I have kept you as a friend on my MySpace, as in that forum there is minimal chance for interaction between you and your adversaries.

Wiz, Charlene, Paula, as well as anyone else having concerns,
- “Friends Only” your Live Journals,
- Ban those whom you don’t want to be allowed to comment,
- disable anonymous comments,
- log IP addresses,
- and report to LiveJournal management any harassment than occurs.

All the instructions for doing these things can be found in the FAQ and LJ Help sites (links in toolbar)

I, myself, unfortunately ran into some problems earlier this year and have had to take this route.

Wiz,
No, I am not “mad”; I am just tired of, and disappointed by, all of this.

I am also somewhat saddened by the implication that I am not a “friend” because I didn’t inform you of a rambled threat to frame someone for murder.  You didn’t hear about it from me because I didn’t read it.

You say and I quote: “I never wanted anyone to take sides so maybe you shouldn’t have deleted him; this was my choice I just wanted to let people know what I was doing so they understood why they had been deleted.”
I do understand your frustration and support your desire to protect yourself from any further interaction; however when you post saying that you are removing anyone who has any of Matt’s LJs on their friends list from yours you are in effect forcing them to chose.  My choice becomes “remove Matt or I’m no longer your friend”, correct? …hence, my frustration as I do value your friendship very much. Matt was removed because, as a result of your post, I went digging and found certain comments which for me crossed all boundaries.

There, I have had my say…
This is not intended to have offended, upset, affronted, or enraged anyone.
I don’t care for drama; I do not like being caught up in it, nor do I like being among the collateral casualties in someone else’s drama.

I hope it is over.
