Saturday, we drove out to Oakdale to celebrate my son and his boyfriend's engagement party. We kicked in a bit for their trip to Vermont in Fall.
I brought a tub o" shortbread for the potluck. Ate waaay too much of everything else, of course.
Sunday, I met a few of the other crafters at the Roseville Library. I decided to wait and see what other people say on the meeting places in the future. I'm pretty used to driving all over hell for events at friends' houses, so I don't really care where it is. I'm hosting next month and, unfortunately, the meeting room was already booked for the third Sunday in October. I scheduled the room for the fourth Sunday, the 23rd. I ended up scheduling the Roseville Library for November as well, just in case no one else wants to host.
I promise. I'll bring cookies next time. If you have any suggestions what kind I should bring, let me know.
Sunday night, we went to Stardust. Excellent. After that, we ducked into Transformers. Much better than I expected. To go to the 9:40 showing, I demanded that Gunthar has to get up with me in the morning. : )
Yesterday, I was in the offce next to mine for most of the morning, then I went back to my desk to pick up my stuff before leaving and my office was crammed full of file boxes. Okay, when you ask for work, they seem to listen. Eek.
My site supervisor had a talk with the other people in the department and made sure they knew she had other plans for most of my days. That's a good thing. I'll be subbing on the phone occasionally, but mostly I'll be in the WorkForce Center Resource Room helping people with resumes, job searches, software help, etc. I'll usually be in West St. Paul, but occasionally I'll be in the one in Burnsville.
I don't really care what I'll be doing. They pay me, they keep me busy, it's not the same thing every day, and ti's a good place for networking for an Internship and a job.
