US edition cover art for the last Harry Potter book. Although Ryan will never agree, this is wickedly awesome looking. What's going on here? wandless magic? a duel on the other side of the veil? What is Harry wearing around his neck? Who the hell are those shadowy figures?
Tonight Mike came over and we made the fluffiest most perfect omelet ever. The key is cooking it on really low heat, putting a top on it, and halfway through pouring some water under it to keep it from burning before it cooks through. odd.
Today at work I made a mental list of things I need to do to make myself happier. I'm not saying I'm unhappy now. In fact I'm pretty content with where I've been taking my life. It just could get better and for a few months I've been feeling like I'm just treading water in my activities. Not doing a whole lot besides hanging out with my sweet sweet friends. Donovan and I talked about it and I realized just about #1 on my list is I've got to change jobs. I can't pretend I'm not a punk for much longer. The veneer is wearing thin.
I believe both of these seemingly at odds philosophies:
-"For Kierkegaard, an individual can have a meaningful life (at least one free of despair) if the individual relates the self in an unconditional commitment to something finite, and devotes his or her life to the commitment despite the inherent vulnerability of doing so."
-"Thus, the meaning of life is a belief about the purpose of life that does not contradict one's experience of a purposeful life. Roughly, this could be applied as: "The meaning of life is those purposes which cause you to value it." To a pragmatist, the meaning of life, your life, can be discovered only through experience."
