I know it's been trying these last couple of months, with slow communication and SUPER slow shipping. And then, somewhat ho-hum extras and bland packaging. But I just want to take a minute and thank you all for participating in my swaps, sales and decant circles. You have all been so patient and supportive and it's been a lot of fun.
But sadly, after the B-Movies circle I will be taking a moratorium on decanting for a while. At least until I can pull my life together a bit.
In addition to breaking my foot last month, I lost my job. Or, part of it. My hours are being cut in half. Also, last Friday night - the night before I should have gone to the PO to send your packages - my cat got very sick. He got into something I wouldn't normally even have in the house, much less lying around in easy access. I watched him in horror all weekend. He has thankfully gotten better since then, but it was very scary.
All this adds up to... simplification, scaling back and getting organized. And honestly I really can't afford to keep losing money in circle after circle. I buy the best vials that don't leak - even though they're much more expensive than the ones most people buy. I spend a lot on my labels - but they last and don't stain easily. I include a lot of frimps and extras. I try to make my packages more like gifts than sales. And I always thought it would work itself out in the end because that's how I've always lived my life: Be generous and it'll come back to you. But one thing has become abundantly clear to me these last few weeks. It's not coming back (I'm not just talking about frimps and stickers now). Things are really sucky right now and previous good deeds, acts of kindness and generosity aren't deflecting the crap that's coming from all directions.
But I hate to whine or complain and this post was absolutely not meant for that. I just honestly wanted to thank you. I truly am grateful that you guys ended up choosing to buy from me - especially when there are so many other decanters out there.
I'll probably be updating my sales sometime in January and if you've signed up for my B-Movies DC, don't worry that's still happening. But after that... I'm hanging up my decanting apron.
Loves ya,
Amanda
