things that need to get done today:
-proseminar paper (about ten pages on the post colonial reading of adventures in wonderland, which has turned into a reading of the colonial body and is already going to be at least two days late)
-show girl from west virginia the apartment, which means that i will need to begin manic cleaning asap
things that need to get done tomorrow:
-write checks and mail out bills
-get dad a b-day present and then send it (it's already late)
-exchange sunglasses (i guess i don't need to do that, but i hate not having sunglasses, and besides, i need to get it done before it's been thirty days or else they might not let me)
-perhaps show more people the apartment
-bikini wax
-deposit check at the bank
-cvs run, general errands
-drink beer at ddds with my q-pie. i think that is definetly a need.
things that must get done by noon on tuesday:
-work for 430- eleven articles, one book, one response paper
-work for 412- articles? bookss? tv journals? i haven't even looked yet...
-annoted biblio for thesis and new revised proposal (this includes reading at least a few books thouroughly, and about fiftenn more books generally, and then about twenty articles generally, writing a paragraph on them all, and then writing five pages on what i intend to use them all to write on...)
while this seems like an unreasonable amount of things to have happen by tuesday (i know, of course, that i cannot get all of these things done) i feel better seeing them all out in a row. it's very organization gives the illusion that it is possible. and, i am totally interested in illusion at this point. whatever gets me through the week and closer to graduation- which is, by the way, is a mere 51 days from now, if i've counted correctly. and i am only in school for 34 more days, and only only physically in class ten more times. yes, i am counting. you would too. while this information is damning (the amount of work that must get done in that time), it is also the only thing which is helping me through it. like a mantra, "it's almost over" is my savior.
i dream of hazy summer days, spent laying looking out the window, rain and damp pavement and that lazy feeling. the heat of the earth and the coolness of showers and that delicious feeling that beauty is everywhere.
