Settling down

Well it's been quite a while since I've added anything to my LJ or taken a look at anybody elses. Starting to feel like things are finally settling down now thank goodness, so I can make a start (eeek!) on my dissertation. Being back with the rents hasn't been too bad although it is incredibly infuriating at times! (keep telling myself it's only temporary). Things between me and the ex are good- still hanging out together like the cool young things that we are. I was home alone Saturday night and for some insane reason (perhaps half a bottle of wine had something to do with it) I decided to head out into the hazy lights of Worcester all on my lonesome. It was infact very interesting and liberating. Bumped into a few mates (including the ex) but decided to keep going it alone and made for the local chav hang out that is Tramps nightclub. I hadn't been there in years and actually had a really good night (and surprisingly there were quite a mix of folk there). I also got to see my little bro at work (supervising a couple of young 'uns as they mopped up some vomit...nice). Met a nice young man called Ben although to be honest I don't think I want to be bothered with any blokeys at the moment. In fact, I've decided I'm surrounded by too many male friends (whether they be straight or gay) and am in desperate need of some girly girly friends so I shall have to try and think of ways to fix that.

Anyway, despite my weekend escapades I'm now back to the never ending of task of trying to concentrate on uni work. I find it really interesting and yet find it so hard to get down and do it. Oh well there's light at the end of the tunnel. Just need to write 2,500 words on contemporary women poets' use of language, and 10,000 words on Chinua Achebe's use of the novel form. Best get cracking on with it....
