Unexpected Lunch Guest
So we had an unexpected guest for lunch today. Just for some background, since I've started working so close to home, most days I come home for lunch, which the boys just love. Today on my way home, I was brought to a complete stop in the middle of a rather busy road by a rather small dog wandering out in front of me. I set the brake, turned on the hazard lights, and went and fetched the dog out of the road. She promptly followed me back to the car. So I scooped her up again (very friendly dog), noted that she had tags, and put her in the car to take home. Once home, we checked the tags and found the dog's name (Rosie), an address, and a phone number. I called the number and discovered that Rosie's person had been out looking for Rosie, who had slipped out a bit earlier and run off. I assured Rosie's person that Rosie was well and that I'd bring her home on my way back to work. We then sat down to enjoy lunch, with Rosie peering into the kitchen through the windows. Afterward, Rosie was safely delivered home.
