Partial Lunar Eclipse Tonight
w00t w00t! Not sure if any of the rest of you like skygazing, but there's a partial Lunar Eclipse tonight that I'm looking forward to. (Here's hoping the cloud cover won't make a hash of it again...)
Regions seeing at least some parts of the eclipse: Much of Europe, Much of Asia, Australia, Africa, South/East North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Antarctica. Animation of the eclipse's visibility and path can be seen here.
ETA: I should probably also mention one of my very favourite apps, Star Walk (Wikipedia link). It lets you know what's coming up and labels all those cool things you see in the sky and always wondered about. You no longer have to know what something is called first in order to find out more about it and basically idiot-proofs stargazing. I seriously love that app to little tiny bits.
