So I returned from Maryland last night after spending the weekend with My girl and her dad visiting historical type things in the philly/washington area, and I had a blast. I am a little dissapointed, but only because I didn't get to go into Independence hall and since Ashley's dad just moved up there for the Army MEPS thing I am sure I will have many more opportunities to visit these places. It was fun and wonderful taking all of it in. The old musty buildings Ben Franklin's Privy and all sorts of other things that you have to go see at least once in your life to get a feeling of how it all started and where it all came from. Mostly we went around to these free storytelling benches run by a company called "Once upon a Nation" they were fun and free so if you are broke and a college student they are a great way to see the city and learn things that aren't on the normal tour. DC was also fun. We walked around to all of the monuments one day and visited the Natural History Museum the next after visiting the Baltimore Harbor. Long walks lost five pounds and gained it back on the car ride home. Fun huh
On another note I have gone on another CD buying spree via BMG music service free CD type deal. I got John Legend: Get LIfted, The Fray: How to Save a Life, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs: Show Your Bones, and a Johnny Cash boxed set named The Legend. They should arrive shortly and I am excited.
Anyway I had a wonderful time on my journey through this country and was even inspired to go rent National Treasure after we went to Philly.
Oh and GA highway police are stupid and they suck hardcore eggs. As we are making good time from MD we are stopped by a little traffic up around Homer. So we find out there is a minor accident blocking both lanes a little farther up the road, and there are some police officers that are directing us off onto a ramp, and upon cresting that ramp we see that most everyone else is just getting back on the highway because the entrance ramp is not being blocked and there is no one else to show you where to go or anything of that sort so we hop back on the highway thinking the accident is under the bridge. We were wrong. Not only were both lanes blocked up ahead, but it also took them over 1.5 hours to clear what they called "a minor accident" stupid cops.
Thanks for indulging my rambles. Have a great day
