ETA: I just went over
duol2fic's comments on my
hp_rarities fic.  Man, do I love her!  She's just so thorough, catching all of the details I missed when I wrote this first third of my entry.  Her comments are totally stimulating (intellectually, you perv); they make me think of the words I write and my intentions behind them, and if those intentions are better served by another word or phrase.

She left lots of red marks on the document, which I do understand because I sent her a very rough draft.  However, those red marks serve to enrich my story, and I am perfectly happy with that.  Modesty aside, I'm thinking she's very involved in the creative process because she actually enjoys what I'm writing. LOL.  Someone kick my smug arse.  I know I am that way as a beta.  I have lots of suggestions and comments on stories in which I see potential, and enjoy.

I'm happy to have found a great beta. *smooches

My Scorpius/Rose story A Brief History of a Beautiful Friendship was recced over at coffee-and-chocolate.com.  Awesome, since this is the first time one of my stories has made it to a rec list.  But this one comment made me LOL.

Oooh, yeah, I’ve read this before (at your rec, I believe). Yeah, it was kind of jarring how it was like “fluff fluff fluff COCK fluff fluff.” But, yes, good rec.

I honestly never saw it that way! I just thought that that's probably how a teenage boy's mind works (I've never been one).  You know, wax poetic about someone you think you might love, cherish your friendship with that person, get hard over that person. But she has a point, and the way she put it just gave me the lulz.

Just a thought though.  As a reader, do you experience "cognitive dissonance" when encountering smut (or hints of smut) in a fluffy story?   Even if it was warned for?  My warning for the story: "periodic mention of male genitalia."

In real life news, I broke my badminton racquet today.  Boo.  I haven't thrown it away, though.  This pack rat wants to keep the first ever racquet she actually bought for herself.

R.I.P., racquet
