Just the other night I came home to find Cobi and Mischief (both cats) had somehow managed to open all the botton kitchen cabinet doors and pull most of the things from inside into the middle of the kitchen! I didn't realize a) how bored cats can get b) how bored cats can be resourceful and c) how they can open a sealed bag of food and not eat it.
As of late they are getting into more trouble, but I don't know which of the two eggs it on. But one of these days something will happen which will "serve them right".
Cats are wonderful at causing trouble. And, well, you did name one Mischief ;)
In terms of an animal getting bored-- I have it almost as bad with Kali, who's a full blooded border collie (Onyx is a mix). It took a long time to train her on what was acceptable to chew on (plus crate training), but she was always interested in things that were already out in the open and didn't actually get into things that were set aside. I'm going to need to start double checking that there are enough toys and rawhide bones around the house before we go anywhere.
Jesus fucking Christ. At least you guys got home in time? At least it wasn't instant death? *spazzflail* Give them both a kick in the ass for me, huh? Or a really good lecture? Fucking shit.
Oh, believe me. I reached for the katana, but both kinda looked at me like "What? Us? With these cute faces?" Yeah I kicked and screamed and stormed to my room. Besides, Kitten would have hung me by the toes had I gone Inuyasha on the babies :(
