GS rpg explained further

Hi everyone, I know I just posted an ad for my rpg game here yesterday but I got a good question and wanted to post the answer in case anyone was wondering the same thing.

The question I received was: What’s the point of playing if the main characters (Ginger & Brigitte) are already taken?

To which I say, the point is that my game is an Alternate Universe Ginger Snaps game. It will not be following the script and because of this, minor characters from the movie and original characters will have a greater role in what happens in the game. This game will not be focusing solely on Brigitte and Ginger.

Also, I’d like to add that while the characters available are minor, that does not make them any less awesome. One of the great things about the Ginger Snaps series is the minor characters are as intriguing as the main ones, they’re not just the cardboard cutouts that you see in most horror movies.

For example, Trina. Yes, in the movie she’s a bully and a snob but that scene when she confronts Brigitte shows the audience that she is more than just a shallow bimbo. She has her own issues going, like what happened between her and Sam? And why is she warning Brigitte? Yes, partly jealousy but that line, “Someone shouldn’t give him the satisfaction!” and mentions of Brigitte being smart, suggests more to Trina than meets the eye.

And what about Jason? Yes, he is a horn dog but when he and Ginger finally get together, he’s the one trying to put the breaks on. Why? What if Jason is more talk than action?

We’re also allowing minor characters from the second movie and characters inspired by the third movie. For example, Winnie, Beth Ann, Tyler, Ghost (who’s not really minor), Hunter, Alice and James. Again, why are these characters worth playing?

Beth Ann and Winnie are both drug addicts so players can deal with their addictions, having to deal with Tyler and since the clinic is now in Bailey Downs thanks to the magic of AU, these girls can interact with the students and citizens of Bailey Downs. The same goes for Tyler, who has his own back story of how he came to the clinic and how he started using drugs to get sexual favors that can be delved into.

Ghost is a pretty major character in the second and, love her or hate her, she is interesting. She’s bright, curious and probably a sociopath when you think about. Besides, who hasn’t wondered what it be light if Ghost had met Ginger instead?

Now someone might think, how the hell can characters from Beginnings be incorporated? To which I say, how come Jeremy looks just like Finn? Also, I say AU which means anything is possible. In our game, Hunter and James have become members of Bailey Downs Police Department and once again, they have to deal with tracking down werewolves although this time they’re not just protecting a fort, but trying to protect a town.

Original character are another way to join this and offer players a opportunity to be involved without being confined to only playing one of the so called minor characters. Here you can create someone out of your imagination and they can be a student, a civilian, and even a werewolf.

To summarize this long winded explanation, there is more to Ginger Snaps than just Ginger and Brigitte. If anyone has anymore questions or wants more details about the game, please comment or PM the journal.
