I'm a career woman!
Looky there, y'all! I have a job! I have a career! I was just recently hired Thursday at West Coast Bank (a local bank in the greater Portland/ Vancouver area) as a teller. There was a really long application and interview process, but I learned so much through it all. Joshua's Dad helped me alot in getting a professional resume and preparing for interview questions. Then I went in for my first interview and among another 25 questions, had to sell a pen. So, on went the performance face and I sold the pen. And my interviewers bought it! The next day, I came in for a second interview, answered another 20 questions and sold a cup of coffee. I was much more comfortable with the cup of coffee, lemme tell ya. I never knew banking so relied on sales! But then, a banker doesn't sell "real" objects; they sell the intangible. So there ya go. Anyways, I get to leave for a full week of training down in Salem, Oregon. The bank gives me money for a hotel and food and everything! And I just go to banking school for a week. Once you're a teller for a few years, the doors open wide and there are so many other opportunities to explore. I'm hoping this will become a real career for me. At least one that will support my music life =) You've gotta have some way to live your dream! And... now that I have a job, I can buy a car!! Maybe a 2002 Toyota Corolla? Yea, that sounds nice =)
