That would be a big, fat Y-E-S. LOL.
Which still surprises me as I honestly thought I was such a control freak that it just couldn’t happen. Each collaboration is different. Sometimes it’s just tossing plot bunnies back and forth with someone until something sticks. Sometimes it’s actually either writing something for someone else to work into a larger fic or working someone else’s work into my fic. Or writing tandem fics in a shared ‘verse where we all affect each other.
Even more surprising to me than the fact that I can collaborate without turning it into a relationship-destroying tug of war, is that I actually enjoy doing it. I’ve loved the hell out of it, in fact. While the Lady is and has been my main partner-in-crime, I’ve had fun with everyone that I’ve collaborated with. Daz, Nan, SFC…I think I’ve even lobbed a bunny at Samu a few times. (Sorry if I forgot anyone - it’s not on purpose. I haven’t fed the zoo yet tonight and they are getting restless.)
I’d love to work with an artist to illustrate my fic. But so far that hasn’t really been a viable option. Everything I’ve used is either borrowed or my own cheesy attempts at manipulating a video game into making pictures. Maybe I should take up drawing? Another hobby I don’t have time to pursue? Nah.
