A Penny Saved...

My sheltered little life just got a big dose of reality. Things may be going downhill soon so I'll have to tighten my belt. I've already started planning. I'm going to call Citibank tomorrow to get my credit card cancelled, and I'm going to see if I can settle this month's payment of my gym membership (since it's already been charged to my card). I'll have to cancel that ASAP as well.

This has got me really down. But I know things will work out somehow. I'll just have to control myself and stay away from temptation *coughbookstorescough* and use the magic questions my seatmate at the office told me. Always ask yourself these 3 questions when you feel the urge to buy something:

1. Do you need it?
2. Do you have the money to buy it?
3. Do you want it?

Do you need it? Need I elaborate this question? If the answer to this question is "no", then there's is no need to proceed to the succeeding questions. Just put the item down and leave the store.

Do you have the money to buy it? Okay, so you need the item. Have you got the moolah to purchase it, and not have to beg for food after doing so? If not, put the item down and leave the store.

Do you want it? You may think this is an odd question. And frankly, I think there may be something wrong with this. But I think it means that even if you need something and have the money to buy it, why force yourself? Look a different thing that you need and have the money to buy. Coz if you don't like something, chances are you won't use it. (Guh, and I suddenly remembered a bag I bought for a bit much that's just sitting in my closet. *cringe*)

Maybe I can give it to someone? Hmmm... But I digress. I have to think of more ways to make some extra cash, or at the least stop spending so much. Time to make...A LIST!

- render OT
- buy cheap food
- stay away from malls
- stop panic buying
- deposit money in bank

That's a pretty pathetic list. I'll probably think of more things tomorrow.

...is one more penny.

life, money
