So, I got into a car accident this morning. I was driving down a very twisty and snowy road in Midland on my way to M-20, which I always take when I'm on my way to school, when a car in front of me slid on a sharp turn, spun 180 degrees, and when I slammed on my brakes we crashed noses. The lady's bumper was cracked and a bit loose, and there were a few paint chips missing. My Saab's front grill was entirely smashed to bits, and the hood will neither close nor open, it being stuck open about 2 inches. I got an estimate for repairs at about $3000. BTW, I only have PLPD, and the Saab itself is only worth about $4000 according to the Kelly Blue Book. So yeah, ick.
The lady in the other car was really nice and we chatted a bit while we waited for the police officer to get there to write a report. We agreed that it wasn't really anyone's fault. But, after the police officer got there, he let me go after writing down all of our information, and for some reason I have a sneaking suspicion that the lady in the other car may have gotten a ticket. I feel bad, because I know what it's like to lose control of your car in the snow... I've just never gotten into an accident with another car because of it. It's pretty scary. My heart goes out to her, and I really hope she didn't get a ticket. But anyway, even if the police report (which I'm going to get a copy of tomorrow if I can) says that she was at fault, it wouldn't matter anyway. First because Michigan is a no-fault state, and second because my family and I talked about it and we agreed that it would be better to just get a new car, trading the Saab in wherever we end up getting on. The Saab was sort of beginning to fall apart anyway, and it did have around 90,000 miles on it.
So, tomorrow my dad and I are going to go to the Pontiac dealership on State street and test-drive an all-wheel drive Pontiac Vibe they have there.

Other than that, if that one doesn't work out, there's a used Saab 9-3 Aero in Burton that my dad was looking at. Both of them are automatics though =(. That makes me invariably sad. I felt so cool driving a manual. Who knows when I will ever get to drive one again? Saaaaaaad =(.
Anywho. It sucks. I HATE THE SNOW!!! FUCK WINTER!!!! It should seriously just be Autumn all the time. Not Spring, Spring is too wet and muddy. And Summer is too hot. Winter just sucks in every way imaginable. Fall, however, is PERFECT. It should just be October all the time. And then on the last day of every month we could have Halloween. Halloween every month! I wish!
