I used to believe we were just like those trees...

For the love of all that's holy and sacred, I'm actually gonna update livejournal. Not having access to a computer at home is defenitely a hindrance to my correspondance, but it has given me a few hours of sleep I probably would have otherwise lost playing on Facebook and LJ.

I can recall the sound of the wind as it blew through the trees, and the trees would bend. I can recall the smell of the rain on a hot summer night, coming through the screen.

I'll try to avoid making this a boring "here's what I've been doing" entry. But I wouldn't be surprised if I read back over and it turns out to be just that. Summer's been good to me so far, I've had lots of free time. Unemployment will do that to you. That's right, since the school year ended at Shelby Academy, I've decided to put off finding another job for as long as possible. I'm making more than enough babysitting, so why rock the boat?

I'd crawl in your bed when the lightning flashed. And I'd still be there when the storm had passed. Dead to the world 'til the morning cast it's light all around your room.

But I've got plenty to do, don't worry. Starting tomorrow I'll be a counselor for the music department's Young Musician's Camp. It'll feel good to be back in Montevallo and back in the music building for awhile. As crazy as it sounds, I've missed it. Then Saturday, Drew and I leave for Naples, Florida for Patrick's wedding. Can we say excited?

We lived on a street where the tall elm's shade was as green as the grass and as cool as a blade that you held in your teeth as we lay on our backs, staring up at the blue, and the blue stared back.

My mom and I have been having some mother-daughter Gilmore Girls style bonding time this weekend. Last night we got dinner at Quizno's and then went to see Bewitched, which by the way, I highly recommend. Only downfall, on the way home we stopped at a pet store, and I was attacked by a hamster! (okay, maybe I tried to pick it up and it bit me) I'm happy to say I'm recovering well.

But oh how our dreams went bump in the night. And the voices downstairs gettin' into a fight.

So today, like any good mother-daughter duo, we went shopping. I won't get all girly on you and tell you what great stuff I got......but the dress and the swimsuit were soooo cute :)

Opened the door to your room down the hall. I turned on the light, and all that I saw was an empty desk and a couple of tacks. No sign of someone who expects to be back. That must've been one hell of a suitcase you packed....

Well, time for me to take off, kids. Leave me a comment and maybe we can hang out if I have some free time this week.

Twirl me about, twirl me around. Let me grow dizzy and fall to the ground. And when I look up at you looking down, you'll say it was only a dream.
