Tales of EVERYTHING!!
Hello my lovely LJ friends~!! ♥ ♥ ♥ How are all of you?
So I've finally reached the final dungeon in Tales of Graces - although now I'm toootally side-tracked with side quests, ugh - and playing has made me curious about the Tales fandom once again. I've been contemplating the fact that I've only played five games from the series (six if you count Dawn of the New World), and now I really want to play the older ones.
The problem is that when I started looking it all up, I found that there is quite a bit of controversy on how best to play the older ones. I've heard that some of the English translations are just really terrible (like Ragnarok being translated as Kangaroo? What?) and that it's better to play the Japanese version, but then... in that case, how would one go about doing that? What is all this with patching and such? And which ones are fine to play in English anyways?
So I've decided to ask here, because you guys are always so smart about this kind of stuff. (I'm looking at you, Lin! ♥) So... which games do you all recommend I play next, and how should I play them? Here's my list of mothership titles:

I am particularly interested in Phantasia and Rebirth! :D The characters look coooool.
