Ok seriously. The serious botany fail is STILL annoying me...
Trees displayed in show- Western Redcedar (Thuja plicata), Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menezisii). Both are GYMNOSPERMS- coniferous (cone-bearing, 'naked' seeded) trees. Scientist lady talks about research in rapid-growth ANGIOSPERMS (seeds w/coat, the VAST majority of flowering plant families in world). They're a whole genetic phylogeny APART. Angiosperms branched off from a common ancestor of gymnosperms. Botany 101, yo. UGH.
Jo standing up for Jack & the integrity of her job was made of win.
I rather like that S.A.R.A.H. felt the need to go to such extremes to keep her people.
Henry was rather cranky this episode, but I'm glad to see him in a more Henry role- teacher, facilitator, problem-solver.
And I'm still REALLY amused that we sort of accidentally predicted a main theme of the episode without trying. AND we got caught doing it. :-D
